It's well known that the german radio situation ain't easy. Especially between the "big ones" the competition pressure became so strong that the formats became more and more even. Special shows that were different from the normal format of the radio-station often are crossed out without replacement. It makes the work of the promotion agencies difficult if radio-stations just use a small amount of titles - especially with this hugh amount of products coming to the market. The responsible editors in understaffed editorial departments cannot listen to the hundreds of CDs that are sent to them each month or even play them. So if you want to achieve something in this medium you have to have a comprehensive knowledge and you always must be informed about changes of formats. cmm has built a radio data bank with more than 1.500 contacts over the years. That gives us the possiblity to react very fast in terms of changes. cmm is different to a lot of other promotion agencies, because we don't send out promotion samples to everybody. Each product is treated uniquely, because only that makes sure, that (especially related to the flood of products) only those editors receive a theme which they are able to make a proper use of. Especially because of these problems with the "big ones" cmm realized that certain themes at first have a better change with local radio. Here cmm performed pioneer work and are still the market leaders. But we keep on fighting: especially in the last months we placed a lot of rock-topics in media control-checked stations. Looking back we can say with pride: this was our most successful year.
